Getting the Basics on Self-Service Moving

Moving to a new home is probably one of the most exciting events for you and your family. This would be more evident if the house you are moving into was that fabulous home you have been dreaming of for a long time. The only hassle to moving and storage is the cost and the seemingly limited options on how to do it.

Probably the easiest method for moving, and the most expensive, would be to hire professional moving companies to box up your belongings then haul them to your new home. The other option would be to get a moving truck rental then do all the packing, moving and hauling on your own.

However, there is a third alternative open for you.

The latest form in moving is self-service wherein you do all the packing and boxing and the moving services do the entire long driving. It is a common sense concept where the company sends a large crate to your home and all you have to do is pack things inside. After that, the company just sends their truck to pick up the water-resistant crate then they are off to your new home.

The self-service moving method is more cost effective as you can do your own packing and storing without having to pay the hourly cost that moving companies would charge for wrapping things up. The cost of self-service moving could be the cheapest among the three methods, as you only have to pay a standard price per crate used depending on the distance to your new home. An insurance coverage is factored into the moving cost, which will be very important if you are moving valuable items.

Using the self-service moving method would be a lot better than hauling your stuff on your own. What if your U-haul breaks down on you in the middle of nowhere? On top of that, having all your belongings in one box can prevent unpleasant mixing during shipment.
